Santa's Coming

When I was a lad

Santa made me so glad

I'd sit in his lap,

He'd tell me "hey chap"

And ask me if I was good

Upon which I said "I would.."

"Now what do you want?"

He'd say with a flaunt

Of his shiny white beard?

"Santa, I'd like your face sheared!"

Happy Holidays

Snow falling right now

Blissful days with family

Such a joyous time

Childhood anxiety

When I was a just a kid

I never could let my mind rid

Itself of worries about the night

When Santa took flight

With all his reindeers aloft

I worried until I coughed

With anxious pain inside

For Santa might get fried!

The reason you see

Was my chimney

Could barely fit a rat

Much less a fat cat!
