Funny Halloween Costumes: Mama Grizzly, Kanye West in Red Suit, Tea Party Fanatic

Julia Bodeeb
It is great fun to create a unique and funny Halloween costume. DIY costumes are frugal and easy to make. Make a costume that will be memorable and give everyone a big laugh.

Mama Grizzly

Sarah Palin and her Tea Party cohorts are having a hoot referring to themselves as a Mama Grizzly. This nickname must be a ploy to try to paint the Tea Party ladies as maternal and yet savage, LOL.

This costume is easy to make out of dark brown felt. Get a large piece of felt, a large embroidery needle and some embroidery thread. Cut two pieces of the felt into a bear shape that will fit your body. Then whipstitch the two pieces of felt together with stitches on the top of the fabric.

Make a face covering that goes over the head. Cut out holes for eyes and mouth. Make them large enough so you get air for breathing. Attach some garish blush and lipstick to the face covering using some cutouts made of red felt or poster board. Glue or pin on the felt lipstick and blush.

Attach some slogans written on poster board to the costume. Some ideas include: "I am mama grizzly hear me roar!" or "Tea Party Grizzly" or "Crazy Grizzly."

Kanye West in a Red Suit

Kanye West made quite an impact wearing a tomato red suit at a recent awards show. Show get your style on and make a suit out of red felt or try to find a red suit at a thrift shop. You could also dye a light colored suit red to wear at Halloween.

Then add a lot of gold chains, get a goatee stick on, and work on developing a chip on the shoulder attitude.

Use poster board to create some slogans to add to the costume. You could write "Album due Nov. 22," or "I'm on Fire," or write something pithy about his new song referring to a douche bag.

Tea Party Fanatic

Have some fun joking around about the Tea Party with your Halloween costume. Wear a basic outfit of casual clothes. Then add a large straw hat or other type of noticeable hat. Staple tea bags all over the hat. Make sure some of the tea bags dangle off the edges of the hat for drama.

Write some slogans on poster board to attach to the costume. Some ideas include "Too much caffeine has fried my brain," "Tea Party Rocks" or "I love my Constitution."
