Funny and Touching Tantrum Story

The Funniest Tantrum

Shasta Hartman
I believe anyone who has kids is entitled to at least one drama queen (or king.) I've been blessed with one that could knock your socks off with her tantrums! Thankfully, she has since out-grown her fit-throwing escapades, but it doesn't mean I have forgotten the best, and funniest, tantrum I've ever witnessed!

You see, my girl was the type who would collapse to the floor at the mere idea of not getting her way. She hardly ever thought of what might be on the floor, what (or who) she might land on, or anything of that sort.

Unfortunately for her, she tried this once at my mother-in-law's house. Their house has tile flooring throughout, with a few rugs placed here and there. Of course, the first time she decided to throw a tantrum, she acquired a small bump on the head and on her elbow. The thing is, she remembered the effects of the tantrum.

A few weeks passed, and we were visiting again at the in-law's. Something went (horribly) wrong for my little girl, putting her into tantrum mode. This time, she remembered the hardness of her grandmother's floor. So instead of her normal collapsing-to-the-floor tantrum, she walked almost through the entire house.

All of us watched, wondering what she was up to. She was crying and nearly going limp here and there, her little shoulders and arms wagging and sagging to and fro, her knees nearly turning into jelly, until she found a nice, cushy rug. By the time she found this safe place to land and begin the dreaded ultra-sonic screaming, we were all laughing, including her, bringing a quick end to her tantrum.
