Because I enjoyed eating them so much, I purchased another package of these pizza slices. Now, that package is almost consumed.
Presented here, is an article which reviews and examines Furlani Texas Toast Pizza.
Size
The net weight of the standard - sized package of Furlani Texas Toast Pizza is 6.75 ounces (192 grams). According to the product's nutrition facts chart. the container holds four 1 slice (48 grams) servings.
In physical size, each of these pizza slices measures approximately 4" x 3".
Price
So far, I have only seen Furlani Texas Toast Pizza stocked and sold at the corner bodega, near my apartment in Hartford, Connecticut. The regular retail price charged for one 6.75 ounce box there is $1.99.
That price seems very reasonable to me. It works out to roughly $0.50c per serving. The retail price at larger supermarkets is usually even lower than $1.99.
Texture / Consistency
When heated appropriately, Furlani Texas Toast Pizza offers a very pleasing texture and overall mouth feel. The Texas toast base in these slices is slightly crisp around the edges and the center is soft and pillowy.
A nice amount of crushed tomatoes and mozzarella cheese top each slice of Texas toast. Although the basic texture of the Texas toast is light and airy, the slices hold together well.
On a regular basis, I purchase and consume many different brands and types of frozen pizzas. Furlani Texas Toast Pizza seems like a breath of fresh air in the crowded frozen pizza field. One of the main reasons I enjoy eating this product so much is because of its unique texture.
Nutritional Facts
Furlani Texas Toast Pizza contains 140 calories, with 40 calories from fat, per one slice serving. This frozen pizza also contains 2 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 4.5 grams total fat, 0 mg of cholesterol, 200 mg of sodium, 21 grams total carbohydrates, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 1 gram of sugars and 5 grams of protein, per one slice serving.
Taste / Flavor
Two of my favorite foods are pizza and Texas toast. When combined, the resulting flavor is very good. The Texas toast is highly flavorful in its own right, but when married with crushed tomatoes, fresh garlic and mozzarella cheese it easily rivals any other frozen pizza.
On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 9.5.
Packaging
Furlani Texas Toast Pizza is packaged in an attractively - designed cardboard box. The front label features a close up illustration of the enclosed product and the side labels list all pertinent ingredient, nutrition and heating information and instructions. Inside the box, the pizza slices are further packaged in a plastic bag that opens easily and re-closes effectively.
Overall Rating
As soon as I saw Furlani Texas Toast Pizza in the freezer case at a local grocery store, I had a feeling that I would really like this product. That feeling was correct.
An idea whose time has come, Texas toast pizza will probably be produced by other frozen pizza manufacturers soon. Kudos to Furlani for offering this delicious new way to enjoy eating pizza. This reasonably priced item is highly recommended.
