In Ashland's earliest days, when the railroad came through providing a link to cities like Sacramento and San Francisco, the heart of our city grew up around our railroad district. Locals still cherish this old neighborhood and if Main Street is now the center of town, "the district" is where we converge to meet with old friends. For more than twenty years, The Furniture Depot has been providing excellent service and contemporary furniture in Ashland with ties to our railroad district. The store derives its name from its original location near the old train depot.

Longtime residents, Sheryl and Loren Clear purchased the business in 1994 and over time, they have transformed it from carrying unfinished furniture to its present structure as a contemporary, full service store. In 1999, the need for additional showroom space prompted the Clears to build their present location at 498 Oak Street. Their expansive showroom is a place that is fun to explore, while the award winning architecture provides vital energy to this burgeoning new business district.

The Depot's focus is on furniture made in North America, with an emphasis on furniture made right here in the Pacific Northwest. Why is this important? The owners of Furniture Depot are local people with a commitment to community, quality and service. They have relationships with the small manufacturers and furniture designers who support the same ideals. As a result, they have assembled a collection of some of the best quality furniture you can find the Rogue Valley, at prices you can afford.

Your home is a reflection of who you are and should be a place where you can find respite from the stresses of everyday life. You want long-lasting quality at reasonable prices and here you can find furniture that is unique and great looking. Visit the showroom at the Depot and you'll find everything you need to decorate your home; stylish upholstery, solid wood dining room and bedroom pieces, interior lighting and lamps, wall art, decorative pillows and bedding, area rugs and lots of accessories. You'll walk out of Furniture Depot inspired with new decorating ideas.

The store is designed with vignettes, real life room settings to give you the feeling of how something will look in your home. You can buy what you see in the showroom, or their experienced design staff will help you create a custom look all your own. Not sure how something will fit, or what colors are right? They can help with space planning and other custom design services.

Loren started his career as a cabinet maker and has a deep appreciation for wood furniture. "We specialize in natural, solid wood furniture," he says. "If it looks like wood, it is! That's very important to us and one of the things that makes us stand out from other stores." Solid wood, solid values and excellent service are just a few of the trademarks of Furniture Depot.

Visit the constantly changing showroom at Furniture Depot and get inspired. They have an extensive website at www.furnituredepot.com. Discover the Depot, different by design.
