ROSES
Roses are the most common flower found in bridal bouquets. A symbol of love, gratitude and appreciation, fuschia roses are considered a part of the pink rose family. These flowers are also very fragrant. Their fragrance could be an asset or a detriment, depending on whether the wedding is outdoors (the scent can attract bees) and how the bride reacts to scent.
PEONIES
Peonies are large, delicate flowers that are sometimes difficult to find, especially in fuschia color, but are extremely popular among brides. Peonies represent prosperity and are an omen of a good marriage. Peonies are the national flower of China, the state flower of Indiana and the celebratory flower for the 12th wedding anniversary.
DAHLIAS
Dahlias are very large, two-toned flowers. Fuschia dahlias have fuschia centers and creamy white tips. Originally from Mexico, dahlias represent dignity, elegance and good taste. White dahlias specifically mean gratitude to parents, but there is no specific meaning for fuschia dahlias.
LILIES
The Stargazer Lily has a beautiful fuschia center, then has the color speckled throughout the petals. These are very large flowers with a pungent scent that may turn some brides off. These flowers are better used as accent flowers, such as for centerpieces or aisle decor. The Stargazer Lily represents wealth and prosperity, which is always a good omen to a new marriage. If brides are looking for a more exotic appearance for their bouquet, the Stargazer Lily is a good choice.
ORCHIDS
There are a few orchids found in a fuschia color that will make a stunning addition to any bridal bouquet. The Cymbidium Orchid is a creamy white orchid with a deep fuschia center, which looks absolutely amazing in any white bridal bouquet. The Cymbidium Orchid adds just a splash of color for a truly dramatic effect. Vanda Orchids are completely fuschia (among other colors), except for the small, white center. Vanda Orchids are smaller than the typical orchid, and make for very nice boutonnieres. Several meanings of orchids include wealth, love, beauty and virility.
These are just a smattering of the vast variety of fuschia flowers available for a bridal bouquet. While the above flowers are certainly the most popular among modern brides when it comes to fuschia choices, there are other ways to incorporate fuschia into a color scheme: ribbons, candles, place cards, menus, even the bride's shoes. Whatever the choice, fuschia is a terrific color to make a bold statement at your wedding.
