Future Movies for August 7, 2009, with Details

I am going to give you a list of movies that are to be expected to arrive in theaters on August 7th, 2009. When possible I will provide you with whether the movies are rated from G to R. I will also provide you a list of who is starring in the movies, who the director is, and what the genres are. I will then give you a small description of each one so that I will not ruin the surprise for everyone.

Friday August 7th, 2009:

Title: A Perfect Getaway

Starring: Timothy Olyphant, Kiele Sanchez, Steve Zahn, and Milla Jovovich

Director: David Twohy

Rating: R (it contains graphic violence, language including sexual references, and drug use)

Genres: Action, Adventure, Thriller

Brief Description: This movie is about newlyweds trying to enjoy their honeymoon in Hawaii. Then they learned of some recent murders of newlywed couples and ended up questioning whether their chosen spot for celebration was a bad decision or not.

Title: Cold Souls

Starring: Paul Giamatti, Dina Korzun, Emily Watson, David Strathairn, Lauren Ambrose

Director: Sophie Barthes

Rating: NA

Genres: Comedy

Brief Description: Cold Souls is about a guy who is an actor that becomes curious about "soul extraction" and uses it so that he could relieve himself of life's stresses.

Title: G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra

Starring: Rachel Nichols, Channing Tatum, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Said Taghmaoui, Sienna Miller

Director: Stephen Sommers

Rating: NA

Genres: Action, Adventure, War

Brief Description: This movie is about a team of G. I. Joes goes into battle with Destro, a corrupt arms dealer, and they also go into battle with the society of the Cobras of who is also a growing menace to the world. The main objective for the G. I. Joes is to not allow the world to fall apart.

Title: Julie and Julia

Starring: Maryl Streep, Amy Adams, Stanley Tucci, Mary Lynn Rajskub

Director: Nora Ephron

Rating: PG-13 for strong language and sensuality

Genres: Comedy, Adaptation

Brief Description: Julie and Julia movie is about two totally different women who are on two different parts of the world. Julia Child is a lady who publishes a book titled Mastering the Art of French Cooking and Julie is a woman who decides to cook all of the recipes which is a total of 524. During her quest she writes about her mishaps and her success in a blog that later on becomes famous.

Title: Paper Heart

Starring: Michael Cera, Charlyne Yi, Jake Johnson, Elise Salomon

Director: Nicholas Jasenovec

Rating: PG-13 for some language

Genres: Comedy, Documentary

Brief Description: Is about a girl who is a performer who does not believe in love and goes on a journey to find the true nature of it. During her journey she meets a traveler who may end up changing her idea about love.

Title: Shorts

Starring: Jon Cryer, William H. Macy, Leslie Mann, James Spader, Jimmy Bennett

Director: Robert Rodriquez

Rating: NA

Genres: Adventure, Comedy, Family

Brief Description: Shorts is a movie about some kids who find a strange rainbow rock that grants wishes when held. As the kids find out how magical this rock is the adults get their hands on it and then that is when the problems begin. It is the job of the kids who found the rock to get it back.

    I am actually really excited to see Shorts, Julie and Julia, and G.I. Joes. I love kid movies. I wish they had some of the movies out when I was a kid.

    I'm interested in "Paper Heart" (I love Michael Cera), and I know my son is excited to see "Shorts." :)
