Future WWE Hall of Fame Wrestlers from the WWF Era

Bruce Bostwick
As a follow up to a previous article I had written in regards to predicting the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2008, it is time to look into every single star that probably should get a mention and get a case as to why. There will be tag teams that should, by all accounts, get in and will eventually. I know there are a couple wrestlers that have no chance of entering due to being on not so great terms with Vince McMahon. Here is what I'm going to do with however. It is going to have some picks based upon wrestlers that, in my opinion, would be considered WWF guys more so than any other brand. Chances are, you may not see your favorite wrestler on the list but that's just mine and mine alone.

Macho Man Randy Savage: Not sure why he hasn't been inducted for sure and there has never been a clear indication. Urban legend suggests somewhere, don't know where it originated from, would be something with Macho Man and Stephanie but I highly doubt it.

Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase: Here is a guy who was the perfect that got you to hate him. He was richer than everyone and tried to buy his way into becoming the WWF Champion. Though he succeeded in getting Andre the Giant to win the match and give him the belt, the WWF now WWE didn't recognize him as the official champion. He was a great example of how to get heel heat and can get you to root against him.

Legion of Doom: Nothing needs to be said about this team. The only tag team in history to have been the NWA, AWA, and WWF Tag Team Champions in history. When you think of the Legion of Doom, you think of the Road Warriors being Hawk and Animal.

Rest of the Hart Family: You can make the case for Bret's father Stu. My assumption to him getting in would go in the same category as Verne Gagne got in despite not working for Vince McMahon. Owen could get in if his wife will allow it to happen. That is going to be a key right there. Davey Boy I think would be an interesting one to go in and if they put the Anvil, most likely it would have to do with him teaming with Bret as being a great tag team.

Shawn Michaels: The Heartbreak Kid made the easy transition from the tag team ranks to becoming a top wrestler in the ring. He was the first wrestler to win the Royal Rumble starting at #1. Aside from that, he has been involved in famous firsts it seems. From the Iron Man Match to the Elimination Chamber, he's seen and done it all.

Stone Cold Steve Austin: The man that Eric Bischoff let get away become a huge hit and probably left him wondering what could have been but I digress. You can call him the face of the Attitude Era. The most known rivalry has to be with him and Vince McMahon and was someone that the working people can relate with in regards to wanting to tell their boss to take a hike. Stone Cold's rise started with King of the Ring 1996 by beating Jake "The Snake" Roberts.

The Rock: While his career was short in terms of long terms star, he had done it all at a fast rate. He was the 1st WWE 3rd Generation superstar to come into the picture and be successful. Because of him, you are seeing some 3rd Generation wrestlers go to the WWE like Randy Orton and Ted Dibiase, not to be confused with his father The Million Dollar Man.

HHH: Like him or hate him, he was apart of the Attitude Era. When Austin was out and The Rock was making movies, HHH in 2000 was really on top of his game. He got you to hate him like no other. It is respectful

Undertaker: Though not holding many World Championships, he is best known in my opinion as the man who has a streak building at Wrestlemania that should never be broken. It should be used as a standard at performing at the big stage.

Vince McMahon: It is a dead given that if it had not been for Vince McMahon, would we be seeing wrestling at a national level much less a global one? I highly doubt that and he revolutionized it from being just a small territory to a multi-million dollar industry.

Trish Stratus: The biggest reason would be that not only can you look good but you can only wrestle. She had the desire to be more than just a model and wanted to stand out from others. Currently the only Woman's Wrestler in the official WWE Woman's Title history books as a seven-time champion, Trish left a mark that probably will have some tough shoes to fill.

Miss Elizabeth: She was most known for being the manager of Macho Man Randy Savage and was probably one of the few valets in wrestling. In fact, the biggest claim at that time was managing the Macho Man while he was the WWF Champion. You couldn't separate the two, as they are two pieces that locked well together.

Jake Roberts: He's a guy who didn't need a championship because he was over enough. His psychology was better than anyone could have imagined and had some of the best feuds out there. He feuded with Ricky Steamboat and it turned out well and had a few matches with Macho Man. At one point was going to feud with Hulk Hogan over the WWF Title but it didn't happen. The main reason had to do with people cheering Jake and at the time they weren't quite ready to go for a face vs. face feud until later. Probably one of the best to never hold a title, and probably would have had a title had it not been for his drug problems. When he was on, he could perform and give you a show worth watching.

Among others would eventually be the Nasty Boys for their style of appearance and brawling. Lita would be in to show that she could bring another element to wrestling with her style and it worked. These are some of the names that you could see eventually getting into the WWE Hall of Fame. This year with Wrestlemania will most likely be Texas based so do not expect a good portion of these names on there just yet. I believe they will have their time soon enough. That is all for this day and coming soon will be a look at future inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame from WCW.
