Fuzzy Orb or Facebook?

Stacey Doyle
Fuzzy Orb or Facebook seems to be the question of the day. As Facebook continues to update their policies, there are a growing number of disgruntled users. Fuzzy Orb is a social networking website looking to offer greater privacy than current leaders such as Facebook.

I remember when everyone was flocking to MySpace then the buzz turned to Facebook. Frankly, I was never too fond of either website. At least Fuzzy Orb has a cute name. But what is Fuzzy Orb all about? I had to check it out for myself.

Some people reported Fuzzy Orb was down because of the growing interest. I found Fuzzy Orb handled the increased traffic now that Facebook is getting a bad reputation. I landed on Fuzzy Orb and read what the website claims to offer users:

"Yep, it's like other social networking sites except its more private!
In other words, a friend of a friend of a friend of a 2nd cousin thrice removed won't see your pictures just because you 'liked' what one of your friends said last Tuesday.
You have complete control of who sees the topics you start.
You can post new topics that only certain groups of friends (that you create) can see.

Or you can let all of your friends know what you are thinking... it's your choice."

That sounded interesting to me. I found Facebook incredibly intrusive. Suddenly people were turning up you really didn't want to see. Fuzzy Orb also lets you know there are not millions of people there so if you search for someone, odds are you will be "sadly disappointed."

I could not find out more info about Fuzzy Orb. Much like other social networking sites, I don't know what to think yet. When I feel unsure, I tend to stay away until I hear more about the site. Has anyone else had experience with Fuzzy Orb?

My favorite social networking site is still Gather. With privacy, points and posts for all interests, everything you want is at Gather with none of the hassles. What is your favorite social networking site?

Facebook is losing ground quickly with a quit Facebook day coming up on May 31. Displeased users are uniting to delete their Facebook accounts in retaliation for what they feel is a lack of privacy. Will you delete your Facebook account on May 31? I use it so infrequently, why even bother to delete it?

For me, it's a no brainer...I won't be hanging around at Facebook and most likely, I won't be at Fuzzy Orb either.

I hadn't had any experience with fuzzyorb until I read this article about a month ago - now I can report that my fuzzyorb experience is great! A lot of my facebook friends are there too - it took a bit of begging them, but they like it too!
