G. Dep Needs Help with Murder Confession Case

Rich Jones
An article posted on Sohh.com discusses the legal problems that G-Dep is currently facing. Trevell Coleman confessed to shooting a man in the chest in 1993, he turned himself into law enforcement officials because of the guilty that he felt attached to the crime. Dealing with the guilt all of these years had lead the Hip Hop artist to feel that bad karma was playing a big role in the events of his life. As a way of ridding himself of the guilt and getting rid of the bad karma, he decided that it would be best to confess to the crime and turn himself into police. However, what Trevell Coleman was unaware of is the fact that the man he shot in 1993 had passed away as a result of the crime. What this means is that the Rap artist was now responsible for murder and that carries a possibility of a twenty five years to life sentence. Diddy commented on the time that he knew the artist and his experiences with him in the past. Basically Diddy indicated that the artist was a troubled soul and that something seemed to bothering him. However, he was the type of person that would not hurt a fly.

What this case shows is the fact that no artist is immune to the reality of life, people make mistakes and these mistakes shape the person we become and the life that we have. Trevell Coleman is just another artist that is a product of life on the streets and the need to survive in that environment. It was the voices within his head and knowing right from wrong that resulted in turning himself into the police. Sure, he could have lived for the rest of his life with the guilt over his head due to shooting this man. However, the fact that he decided to turn himself in shows that people can do the right thing even when it is not in their best interest. His lawyer has attempted to reach out to any artist, producer or fan and asked that letters by written about the Rap artist and his positive character. Fans could write letters to the court and discuss the artist and his music, this would help the Rap artist to be seen in a more favorable light. The shooting of John Henkel at East 114th Street and Park Avenue in 1993, Trevell Coleman was just 18 years of age. Diddy has already come forward to defend his former artist and talk about his positive character.
