G-Unit DJ Tony Yayo Charged with Assaulting a Minor

Can't Sell Records? Quick Fix: Hit a Kid and Make the News

Andrew Bess
What would you call a so-called rapper who gets out of prison to a multi-million dollar label deal and cant rap? That might define a few rappers in the game so I better make it more specific. What Ex-con turned G-Unit Emcee assaults a 14 year old kid? Bingo. Tony Yayo is not only a flop in the hip hop industry, but he is also is an accused child beater. Yayo was arraigned on March 25th on one count of misdemeanor assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor.

Here is how the story allegedly goes. The 14 year old boy, who is the son of Jimmy Rosemond who is associated with The Game, was walking down the street wearing a shirt that represented Czar Entertainment. Yayo apparently approached the minor and backhanded him while spurting out curse words to make sure he got his point across. This was all because this child is related to a member of Game's camp. 50 Cent was noted to be present at the scene, but his lawyers deny that claim. Before we go and get the boys saddened mother, Reverend Al Sharpton, Councilmen, and a crowd to assemble in the streets we need to get our facts straight. Oh wait a second; they have already rallied in front of Universal Headquarters on this allocation. Way to go Reverend.

Let's take a deep look at this situation and get to the bottom of it if possible. Now I'm not saying Yayo is a saint, nor is he a good rapper, but is he retarded? I understand that people in this industry try by any means possible to make money and ruin images of their competition. But is this a defamation case, or is it really the truth? Now wouldn't it be ironic if this child is marketed by the same commercial products that G-Unit pushes on young children? With how popular Yayo is, the kid was probably listening to his CD at the time of the incident. Ok enough mockery, but this is a serious issue on hand.

When music becomes violent it's bad, but when it gets targeted at the children related to the beef it's disgusting. This isn't just an attack on a child; it is an attack on hip hop. Protestors have been wearing "ban 50 Cent and Tony Yayo" shirts to speak out on this incident. The legitimacy needs to come out and justice needs to be served. But on a lighter note: Is it possible to ban a rapper who doesn't sell records (Oxymoron maybe)?

50 Cent has Threatened a Defamation Lawsuit Following these altercations.

Look for more of that in the near future.
