Moammar Gadhafi is dead at this hour, according to the latest televised confirmations from CNN and Al-Jazeera. National Transitional Council forces in Libya reportedly killed Gadhafi in a capture attempt made in Gadhafi's hometown of Sirte. Sirte had remained a Gadhafi stronghold even as the rebel NTC had taken over much of Libya in recent months. That stronghold fell Thursday, and gruesome video of Gadhafi's dead body being dragged through the streets soon streamed online.
You can see the Gadhafi death video and photos here, though viewer discretion is strongly advised. The video, reportedly taken with a cell phone by someone in the crowd, was released by Middle East news outfit Al-Jazeera Thursday morning. Photos, actually screenshots captured as stills, were taken from the video.

Al Arabiya has also released video they say was taken just before Gadhafi's death. In that video, aired on CNN, Gadhafi is seen alive but bloodied and severely injured, stumbling to his feet as rebel forces lead him away. It is unclear if Gadhafi later died as a result of injuries seen in the video, or if there was a subsequent, final bullet fired to end his life.
People in Libya are said to be celebrating in the streets at news of their former leader's death, hugging each other, firing their weapons and chanting with jubilation. One man present in the crowd at Martyrs' Square in Tripoli told a CNN reporter, "The devil is gone. We are optimistic." Another man spoke on camera with enthusiasm, explaining that after 42 long, terrible years, "Now Libya is free without Gadhafi."
If you want to see the bloody proof for yourself, uncensored photos and the Ghadafi death video is available right here. Again, this video should not be viewed by children or those who are easily offended by the sight of blood or death.
President Obama is expected to officially confirm the news that Gadhafi was killed Thursday in an address he will give from the Rose Garden at the White House. This address is expected to be given Thursday afternoon; you can watch the address live on CNN.

Oh so did they finally confirm it? Saw it on the morning news but they hadn't received independent confirmation yet.
Jennifer the first and second link are opening on my computer.
The photos of a dead/dying person displayed in this manner are so disrespectful. It really does not matter how a person lived, they should be respected in death.
For some reason the first link isn't working here....but the second one is. Sorry. *frustration*
New video link up. Should work now. :)
Video is denied. Link will not open...sorry.
