Gain Traffic 7 Ways

I'm going to let you in on the ways that I generate traffic or gain prospects for my business. As we all know advertising can burn a hole in your wallet. When you first start thinking about advertising you want to pinpoint the demographic of your target market so you aren't wasting money on advertising. Usually you will know. If you are trying to market a clothing line a good way to get exposure is to market the product yourself by wearing it or have others wear it.

1.Promotions- This can be done by running a promotion where the winner will receive a free t-shirt, it's free but not entirely because you will be benefiting from the exposure your product is getting and also gaining a potential happy customer. Both sides will win. Promotions are GREAT ways to get your business traffic but you want to make sure to set a budget.

2-Forums (signature) Forums specifically geared toward your target market is a good way to get more traffic however you must be careful not to spam. I have received traffic from forums so I know it is effective, what you want to do is have your business in your signature but use something catchy so the reader will want to click on it. This is a free and very effective tool.

3. Targeted Groups- Another way to get traffic is by joining groups that have high traffic on social sites such as Myspace or Facebook. The benefit of this is that someone is sure to be interested in your product because this is targeted traffic which means it's like a warm lead with the person already familiar with it. Once you have joined the group you want to work on adding friends. Once you have friends added you want to personalize your messages with them and interact so that they will see you apart from some everyday spammer. Once you have their trust they will probably start asking you questions and show more interest in your business.

4. Newspapers- This can get kind of spendy, I suggest trying it out first to see if your target would be interested. Newspapers can be a very good thing because they usually have a distribution area which sometimes can be several counties so for just one ad in the paper you can reach out to several hundreds or thousands of people.

5. Traffic Exchanges- Traffic exchanges allow other people to get exposure to their sites. There are sites that for 1 viewing of someone else's website you in turn get 1 view to yours. You want to make sure to list your website in the correct category or else it would be wasting your time since your viewers aren't targeted viewers. Traffic exchanges have also been effective for me.

6. Business Cards-Business cards represent professionalism. They are a good way to get exposure because all your information is listed on there. Business cards are great tools because if a question comes up about your product you can simply had the potential client a card where they can refer back to.

7.Website- In this day and age it is essential for online companies to have a website or it will pretty much be a losing battle. A website can bring great exposure and it's like your own little store. You want yours to be friendly and unique, this is what will draw customers and bring in repeat customers.
