https://www.galtogalwalk.org, what you do is pay $3.00, which goes towards breast cancer research, then you get to design your walker. Then watch her walk with the other walkers one city a day.
The inspiration came when two woman, who lost the battle, Robin Bloksberg and Janis Armstrong., they were the foundation of gal to gal foundation. The virtual walk starts in Robin's home town of Boston. It will end in Janis's Home town of San Francisco. The designs are done by The Designer her Gals, who was inspired by Janis's openness, to help woman face stage IV breast cancer.
The idea to help woman with stage IV cancer came after research was done, and it showed that when you donate to cancer research, almost all of it goes for Stage I and II cancers, which is prevention, but very little goes towards stage IV, which is you have it and there is very little that can be done. When a woman reaches stage IV that should be her choice, to sit back. That is why research money should be spent on stage IV cancer. It was this that has lead to this virtual walk. The main goal of Gal to Gal is to help woman in stage IV to maintain a dignity through out the treatments.
The foundation is not only helping to raise funds for research, but helps woman with financial and emotional well being, and they also are sharing with another organization called making memories. It is like a make a wish for woman in stage IV. Making Memories grants the wishes of the woman and their families.
If The walk get the one million walkers it will make virtual history. Nothing of this magnitude has been tried before on the internet, By donating your $3.00, not only will you make history, but you will be helping many woman, who may potential get to stage IV breast cancer.
Instead of spending $3.00 on that double shot mocha latte, why not donate, design a walker, and help woman of stage IV breast cancer. Help make virtual history and join the virtual walk. Even celebrities like Martha Stewart have a walker in the walk. Go to https://www.galtogalwalk.org, to join.
