Galations 2:20 Commentary: I Have Been Crucified with Christ

Hartley Engel

Through faith in Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach), I can gain victoy over the passions and lusts of the flesh and live a life that is pleasing to God. My old unregenerate self has been crucified with our Lord, nailed to the cross. This doesn't mean that I never sin - for I do every day on some level. But under the guidance, power and love of the Holy Spirit, I receive forgiveness and renewal - the freedom to enjoy and share His agappe love; to shine the light of Christ into an apathetic and dying world. He gave Himself for a wretched sinner like me - out of love! Amazing grace! Glory to God! ><>

Galatians 2:20

New King James Version (NKJV)

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

The Old Testament Predicts the Coming of Christ, Yeshua Ha'Mashiach:

Isaiah 7:14

New King James Version (NKJV)

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6

New King James Version (NKJV)

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

    I have also been "crucified with Christ" - I long to be a light in this dark world. Cheers :)
