Amenities at Galveston Island State Park

RV sites at Galveston Island State Park are not what one would consider "full hook-up". This is because they only offer water and electricity, no sewer hook-ups are available. However, there is a dump station on the property that guests can use. There is also 50 amp electric service available for those guests who need it. Guests limits per camping site is only eight people and only two vehicles, with one of the vehicles being the travel trailer. All extras must be paid for. A daily fee and a campsite fee must be paid and campsite fees are determined by where the campsites are located in the park and if they will use electricity or not.

Guests of Galveston Island State Park will also have access to restrooms, some with showers and others without, picnic sites and shelters, freshwater and saltwater fishing and a fish-cleaning shelter, a 2-lane boat ramp is adjacent to the park at Pirate Cove that guests can use. There are also hiking and biking trails and an interpretive center.

Guests staying at Galveston Island State Park are welcome to bring their pets with them as long as they agree to abide by the rules set by the State of Texas. These rules include pets being on a six foot or shorter leash, or they must be confined to a suitable crate or left in a vehicle and must not be left unattended when outside their rv or vehicles. They must be cleaned up after, they are not welcome in any state enclosures, buildings, swimming areas or any land area that is adjacent to a swimming area including any beaches. They also must be well behaved meaning that they should not be noisy, they should not pose a threat to any guest or other pet and they must not create a disturbance of any type.
