Gambling is Not the Solution to Hitting the Financial Jackpot and How to Break Free from It

JOEY S
Like any addiction, it is hard to break the habit of being an excessive gambler. Unfortunately with gambling debt, gamblers who have lost a lot of money through horse racing or gambling in casinos, try to get out of their gambling debt by continuing to gamble in the hope that they will hit the jackpot soon to pay of the debt. It is a vicious cycle that can lead to depression, suicide and a breakdown in marriage.

It is human nature to try and make easy money. Even the simple and seemingly innocent process of buying a couple of lotto tickets a week causes the loss of money over time. Sure you may have small wins here and there but over the long term the gambler will highly likely be in a loss situation but they will continue to buy lotto ticket as they dream that one day they will have this huge financial win.

Gamblers also continue gambling for their pride. The only way that they can justify to their family and friends that they haven't wasted their money is to hope that they can win a large sum of money to show them that it's all been worth it.

At the end of the day the only winners are the casinos and bookmakers. The gambler has to realize that the chance of hitting a huge jackpot is rare. The odds are stacked heavily against you. You can never beat the casinos. They always will get on top of you. You need to realize that there are better ways of making money which is through hard work and good investment policies over a long period of time. The scary thing is a lot of people who have won lotto for example are not happier. Most of them blow their earnings and end up broke as they can't handle money. They simply don't know what to do with it. A lot end up taking drugs and drinking heavily.

You need to halt all gambling activities. You need to terminate all your gambling accounts. This will be difficult to do especially if you are a heavy gambler. You most likely will need counseling or even joining gambling support groups with fellow gamblers to try and succeed to break this bad habit together.

Once you break from your gambling habit, you will over a period of time get out of your debt. You need to persist and retrain your mind that you will not get financially ahead by gambling. The big jackpot is a false dream.
