1. Stay within your limits
If you only have $100 to play with, do not sit in with your whole bankroll right away. Place smaller tables, taking no more than 20% of your total available bankroll to any table at one time. This way, you have enough money to make a little bit if you hit a big hand and if you come up unlucky, then you still have some to play with. According to my gambling tips, the best players in the game sit at the big tables because it is not worth their time to play the small tables. While some sharks may hang around the lower levels in order to prey on the inexperienced players, they mainly stay away. By playing with players of similar skill to you, you can improve your game while making some money in the process.
2. Be careful who you sit with
Online poker is great in that it allows people from around the world to sit together without leaving the comforts of their favorite couch. Most gambling tips will tell you that the downside of that is that it can allow for some shady play. Collusion, or players working together to make a cooperative profit, is often a problem with online poker sites. If you sit at a table and the play appears to be fishy, then leave. If you notice certain players seem to be making moves in unison, then something is probably up. Conveniently, some poker sites allow you to see where the players at your table are from. If people are from the same place, it probably is not a coincidence. Get out quickly or you will be sorry.
3. Sit 'n go tournaments
Sit 'no go tournaments are a great way to have some fun and make a good profit. These are excellent because they allow you to play tournaments at your own time and not have to wait around all day. Once eight or ten players sit down at the table, they will take your entry fee, provide you with virtual chips, and you will be good to go. Most people who provide gambling tips agree that through consistently playing sit 'n go tournaments, you afford yourself the ability to make good profits. Not surprisingly, many players come to play these tournaments. Often, the players who play in these tournaments are not as good as those who sit in at big cash games.
If you follow these simple gambling tips, then online poker should be a breeze. While nothing guarantees that you will come out on top, using your head and being smart will undoubtedly increase your chances of walking away with a bankroll.
