Game Day Iowa

Living in a university town has taught me many things...HOW to park downtown and avoid bicycling students, WHEN to time my downtown shopping to miss university students and last but not least...WHERE to shop for all my U of I Hawkeye needs! Now, this may not sound like a biggie to many reading this....but let me assure you. Just because a store totes "we have Hawkeye items" does not mean the items are of high quality and often can actually mean the HIGH part is in the price. So it's important to know where to find the popular black and gold items and save some green for the game as well!

I admit, when I first moved to the area, I was drawn downtown to the big building on the corner who seemed to be a legend in the land of the Hawkeye. I believed that I would find a fair price AND great variety. BUT...as the years have gone by I have come to realize that not only did I NOT find the best prices downtown, I also was missing many interesting items that could have been found had I only known about Game Day Iowa.

Game Day Iowa, conveniently located on 2nd Street in Coralville (known to locals as "the Coralville strip").....is the place to go for interesting, collegiate items. From the traditional black and glad overalls seen far and wide during football season, to sedate IOWA shirts and sweatshirts and even items for the newest "Hawkeye" on your list. Within the children's section, you can easily find items ranging from the smallest of small onesies to cheerleading outfits for that little pom pon waver in your life and of course, game jerseys' for kids of all ages and adults as well. Game Day Iowa is chock full of black and gold as well as spirit. And if you are looking for something interesting, be sure to check out the "singing" key chains which serenade you with the Hawkeye theme, as well as decorative lights and signs galore. If this store doesn't have what you want in stock, I would be surprised as it seems to be chock full of anything and everything a Hawkeye fan might need or want! Though there are many other business' in the area that tote Hawkeye apparel, Game Day Iowa has apparel and more and at a price you won't have to break Juniors Hawkeye bank to purchase. I have been pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices...and that's coming from "bargain Mama" here in Coralville!
