Game Ideas for a Little Kids Halloween Party

TommiH
Halloween is a great time to have fun and dress up. It is a time to be something different for a day and just enjoy yourself. It is also a good time to have some friends and family over for a party. But what will you do at the party? What are some good ideas to keep little kids busy?

I have a couple ideas below to make a great little kid Halloween party. Hopefully some of these will help you out on your quest to throw your party. Here we go!

Bobbing for apples

This is a classic party attraction. You can go to a craft store and buy a black kettle (use it for the bucket to hold the apples in) and a couple dozen apples. Fill the kettle with about a dozen apples at a time and fill the kettle with water a couple inches away from the top. Watch those kids bob for apples. They will have a blast!

Ghost hunt

At night you can hold a ghost hunt. Pick two kids to be the ghost hunters and the rest of the kids to be the ghosts. Wait until it is very dark before you play. Send all your little ghosts out to hide somewhere in the yard and give your two little ghost hunters a flashlight. The ghost hunters go out and try to find the hidden ghost with their flashlights.

Candy bag search

This is a good and loved classic also. Fill up goody bags with toys and treats and hang them up in hidden places outside. Walk the kids around and tell them to find the sweets. Make sure that every child gets a bag of candy, even if they did not find one during the search. Make it fun for everyone!

Costume contest

You can organize a costume contest. Have different prizes for different categories, such as: scariest monster, prettiest princess, funniest clown, etc. Give the kids a chance to vote on their favorite costume someone is wearing. The winner gets a prize.

Pumpkin carving

Gather all the kids up to have a silly pumpkin carving adventure. There is nothing better than being with friends, making messes, and carving strange faces into pumpkins. You can put google eyes, fake hair, colorful pipe cleaners, etc on the table for them to decorate their pumpkins in.

Candy corn count

Put a counted number of candy corn in a jar and seal it up tight. Place small-blank cards on the table in front of the candy corn filled jar and let people take a guess at how many candy corn are in the jar. Have a basket around the jar so people can place their answers in the basket when they are finished. Make sure everyone writes their name on their answer card so you know who won. The person who guesses the closest amount of candy corn wins the candy corn jar and a prize.

Shake things up this Halloween season and have some fun! Have a party. Have some laughs. Make some wonderful memories!
