Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is a game that will be released on February 29, 2008. The game has already seen a release on X-Box 360. The game is a third-person shooter game created by the Capcom Company, L.T.D. The game blends a good story in a futuristic setting with an arsenal of powerful weapons. In this day and age, that is the perfect game plan for a good video game. It has a T rating on this game which means that it is geared toward teenagers so no little kids on this game. The game made for the Playstation 3 features all of the perks of the PC and X-Box versions of the game, as stated by www.wikipedia.com. This includes bonus and added levels to the online play as well as different upgrades. I have played a early demo version of the game for the Playstation 3 console and the game is very entertaining. Here is a review of this new video game for Playstation 3.

Wikipedia.com states that the story is about a human named Wayne. He is a soldier that uses a suit called a V.S. (Vital Suit). He lives on the planet E.D.N. III, which is a cold, snowy, desolate planet with rough terrain. The planet is inhabited by aliens as well who are called Akrids. The Akrids want the planet for themselves so by their sheer strength and numbers, they have been able to off a lot of humans. It was discovered that the Akrids have a power source inside each of them called T-ENG. This thermal energy is a very powerful energy source. The humans use it to power their V.S. to fight the Akrids. You play through the story learning more about the planet as well as a plot to make E.D.N. III warmer and more inhabitable by humans.

This game is definitely a hot title. On the demo version, the game play is very smooth. You can move around very quickly. The aims on the guns are good as well. The only challenging part of the game starting is learning how to really work your different V.S. mechanical suits and their different functions. I have played the demo version on Playstation 3 as well as the X-Box release. If you are a first time player of third person shooting games, it may take some time to adjust to the game and bring your play up to top speed. The graphics are also top notch, using slight hints of anime-styled influences which can be seen on the demo version os the Playstation 3 release. The gun play is very entertaining as well as the different individual levels in the game. You can attain different mechanical suits that have very different functions and sizes as stated by Game Informer. You can carry two guns at a time as well as upgrade your weapons to suit the certain circumstances within the game as stated by www.gameinformer.com.

One great feature of this game is that you can play online with up to 16 players, as stated by www.wikipedia.com. You get to choose different levels and you can also buy more levels from the Market. This adds a cool dynamic to the game. You can link up online with friends and even make new ones. The game has received well to moderate ratings by many of the gaming pros in the field. It received an 8.5 from Game Informer, a top video game and PC magazine and was voted "Game of the Month" for February. The lowest ranking was 6.5 out of 10 from 1 UP. Even with these varying scores it has been received well by customers. It was the best selling game in the UK upon its release. This game is a must for gamers who like their game play in the same vein as Halo and Call of Duty. I recommend it to everyone. It should be available anywhere that sells new video games such as Game Stop and Electronic Boutique. They also have websites so you can check on there as well.
