Game Stop : A New Addition to Macclenny, Florida's Stores

Game Stop is a national chain of locally owned gaming stores. Nearby Jacksonville, Florida has several Game Stop stores, but our small community of Macclenny just opened a Game Stop.

If you are in Maccleny, don't let Game Stop;s location stop you from shopping there. They are located off of highway 121, but are hid behind the Woody's Barbecue. I would highly recommend shopping there. I think Game Stop will be around Macclenny for a long time to come. The store just opened about four weeks ago, or right before Thanksgiving. This community is very small, and this is the first time that there has been a gaming store here.

Don't be surprised by these stores.When i went to shop the first time, I was surprised. I thought it was a regular gaming store, with full priced items. However it is a discount store , with all of their merchandise used or bought in bulk. Games are bought at a discount. You play the game, bring it back in the original. package and you will receive either a small cash payment or a discount on another game. I was surprised to find games for all systems. They even had about twenty games for the very old, ancient Atari game system. They have some newer merchandise for game systems such as Wii and Guitar Hero.

In addition, they Game Stop has game systems. The manager advised me that these systems were either traded, bought in bulk at discount stores, or refurbished from yard sales or garage sales. He had every system imaginable, even having his last Guitar Hero system. He even had the latest AC DC pack for Guitar Hero.

In addition, the store has just started taking in movie Cd's. The manager stated that their latest addition to their inventory were Blu Ray movies. He stated he was trying to purchase some discounted Blu Ray players, but as of yet , did not have any. He was not selling VCR's as he stated they were about nonexistent, however he was selling both CD players and recorders.

I was very impressed with his prices. We purchased the Lego Star War game for Wii for only 19.99. We also purchased the God Of War 1 role playing game for Play Station 2. The cost was only 14.99. In addition, we purchased an original first generation Nintendo System, as our daughter had requested one for Christmas. It came complete with 2 games, Mario and Duck Hunt, which use to be the basic games you received with a Nintendo purchase. We bought the Nintendo system and the 2 games for $25.00. Games for the old Nintendo system sold for around $5 a game as the system is old and out of style.

The only problem with the Macclenny Game Stop is the location. It was built behind the new Woody's Barbecue Restaurant in Macclenny, Florida. It is difficult to see from the road. There was no advertisement of the store from the road, and if we hadn't eaten at Woody's lately, I probably wouldn't have known it was there. I made the suggestion of a road sign to the manager.

I would highly suggest visiting Game Stop. The manager was very friendly and stated that he would appreciate any publicity, as he is just getting started. He even cleaned the games there on site, putting them in the game system to make sure they were working. Check Game Stop out for gifts and you will save a lot of money on your gaming supplies.
