Before you even create a Que, you have to create an account. You can choose different plans for games: one game at a time, two games at a time, three games at a time or four games at a time. Of course, these all cost different amounts ranging from $15.95 to $22.95.
There are four shipping centers around the country. Gamefly will automatically choose a shipping center closest to you. Pretty much no matter where you are, it is going to take about 2 days for GameFly to receive a a game you sent back. That isn't as good as Netflix, but its a start. They are promising that there will soon be new shipping centers in the near future.
They have a really large selection of games. They have games from the oldest Game Boy Advance to the newest XBOX 360 or PS3 games. They also tell you about games that haven't come out yet. You can add games to your Que before they come out. Once they come out, if you added them the first day they were available, you will be the first ones they ship to. The same is also true if you add a game the last day before it launches. If the game is going to be popular, it is going to take you a very long time for you to get it.
The service works extremely well, with a few exceptions. If you add two games to your Que and the second one is going to be available before the first one, they will ship you the second game. This seems like it shouldn't happen. If I really want to get a game to go on a plane trip, I want that game to show up. Of course, you could remove all the other games from your Que, but that is a pretty big hassle to find them again.
I would rate GameFly a 7 out of 10. It works really well, with a few exceptions, and does what it advertises. It is, if you play a lot of games, the cheapest way to rent.
