GameForACure.Com Presents: 4v4 Halo Reach Tournament to Help Fight Cancer
Gaming for a Cause - Take a DMR to Cancer
According to their website, http://gameforacure.com/, the tournament is scheduled for late November (the 26th to the 28th to be exact). The cost of each team is $20 per team of four (so $5 per person), and there is to be a set maximum of 32 teams total for the tournament. Revenue earned from the event will be donated for cancer research.
However, in this tournament you're not only gaming for a great cause, but there are also unspecified prizes. According to GameForACure.com the prizes are known at this point in time, but they "will be worth it". Honestly, knowing you're gaming for a good cause is good enough, but prizes definitely don't hurt, either.
As of right now there are four teams registered.
The schedules for the tournament, at this point in time, are as follows:
Tier 1 - Friday, November 26th, 2010
Starts at 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
(According to their website they are keeping the Tier I day separate due to the higher influx of matches being played. They want to ensure accuracy and professionalism is at it's highest standard, so they have pushed the upper tiers, semi finals, and finals to the next day.)
Tier 2 - Saturday, November 27th, 2010
Starts at 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time
Tier 3 - Saturday, November 27th, 2010
Starts at 4:30 PM Eastern Standard Time
Semi Finals - Saturday, November 27th, 2010
Starts at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time
Finals - Saturday, November 27th, 2010
Starts at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time
As of right now GameForACure.com is only sponsoring online video game tournaments. However, in the future, they hope to hold in-person video game events.
