Throughout the centuries of existence, human beings were fascinated and enthralled by games in every way. Games were evolved to rope in team spirit and spread a sense of comradeship among the fellow men. Games were developed to increase the mental as well as the physical ability of the people who were playing them. On a broad basis it could be split into outdoor and indoor. Both those sorts of games need careful dedication from the people who are playing it. Rules were created in games to induce discipline and to curb any such anomalous behavior like resorting to unfair means, cheating etc. Games when played in the earlier times were excellent repositories of ethics and moral values . Games like chess were bounded by rules in which physical prowess and sex had nothing to with winning.

Games enhance the interaction between partners. Relieves them of the pain and reduces the stress. Any game when played with the people whom we love relaxes us instantly. But slowly indoor games especially video games at present, focuses heavily on the individual. This is a dangerous trend which would kill the sole purposes of why a game was invented by a wonderful human brain. No game which induces addiction can be termed as game. Games should be used as temporary relaxation techniques. Games when split into subcategories may be termed as board games, card games, computer games, tile games and sports. When men realized the importance of the brain, mental games were introduced to develop the brain. Puzzles and crosswords are one such variety. Puzzles as games were introduced to increase the reasoning ability of the human brain. Logical reasoning served as the basis for solving crosswords. It amuses us, how the reasoning has been introduced in to games, as reasoning is one such area which does not arouse the interest of the common man.

Every game has its own flavor attached with it and every game has its own set of rules. Every century of human existence has brought in more new games into the world and the very best indoor game ever invented was chess, believed to be developed by the Indians. Chess closely resembles the human life; one wrong move in this game would lead to our downfall. And another popular game which has close resemblance with life is the ubiquitous snakes and ladder game portraying the ups and down of human life.

The oldest game ever to be played in this world is the game of creation. It is a game played with love and lust. Ancient Indians believed it to be a game which would take them close to god as in one single moment; the partners forget everything around them and get transported to a state of bliss. The oldest game is the best game on earth for relaxation.
