Garden of the Gods is a popular attraction in the Colorado Springs area. After driving through and admiring the different rock formations, you can visit the Nature and Visitors Center for a lot more information about the park.

You can learn the history of the Park and the Pikes Peak region of Colorado and find out how those red rocks got there! You haven't seen the Park until you've seen the show! Your whole family will enjoy this exciting, entertaining, and educational theater presentation! Here, the Garden of the Gods Park and the magnificent red rocks will come alive in a fast-paced, fascinating, 12-minute, multi-media adventure. This stunning movie uses time-lapse photography and four screens, including one 20x30 foot screen with laser lights and more.

While looking through the center, you can enjoy nature talks and exhibits. You can also go on guided walks, follow trails through the park, rock climbing and take some great pictures. For the photographer in your family, Garden of the Gods Park is a paradise of creative opportunities. You can take great photos from the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center terrace or from the Gateway or Balanced Rock parking lots. Try the Siamese Twins Trail for a unique view of Pikes Peak framed by this beautiful rock formation.

Garden of the Gods has a Junior Ranger programs, and is open to children ages 7 to 12. Junior Ranger candidates acquire an acitvity booklet, and once the booklet is completed, they will be introduced to the visitors over the PA system as the newest Junior Ranger. Your child will also receive a bade and certificate. This is something that your child will remember for a long time.

At the Visitor and Nature Center, geology, ecology and cultural history of this Colorado region come to life through hands-on-exhibits. For example, you can learn how the Magpie builds its next, see a the replicated skull of a Camptosaurus, a dinosaur from the Jurassic Period, found in the Park, or read about the American Indian tribes who wintered in our Park. Some of the displays you can enjoy include a mineral display case, 3 talking rocks with interactive displays, life-sized replicas of two Buffalo and a Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep.

Don't forget to stop by the gift shops while visiting Garden of the Gods. Their gift shops were voted the "Best in Colorado Springs."They offer a wide variety of custom souvenirs and specialize in Colorado-made items. There is something for visitors of all ages at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center gift shop.
