If you have a garden or want to create a garden there are some supplies that you should have and will need for your gardening chores. Many of these will be needed to make your job easier and have a healthier garden. Here are some of the top supplies and tools that you need.

Shovel or Spade: You will need a shovel to dig holes to plant the seeds in. This will also come in handy when you are preparing your soil. The shovel can also be used for tilling. If you have a large area that you want to till the ground, you will want to borrow or rent a rotor-tiller this will save you allot of time.

Hoe: The hoe is a great tool that will make weeding your garden easier, and can be used to create holes in the ground to plant seeds in when the shovel will be too big to use.

Watering Bucket/ Watering Can: This you will use often when you water your garden in the summer months. Finding the right one is important. Plastic cans are alright to use, but if you get a metal can it will last many years. You also can use a hose if your garden is small enough but for larger gardens where the water won't reach from the hose you risk damaging your plants if the hose is drug across the plants.

Garden Cart - Garden Wheelbarrows: This is great to use when you are taking your stuff to the garden, or moving dirt, mulch or compost from one sport to another.

Rakes: You will need a rake when you are gardening to clean out the weeds and for spreading out the dirt to make it smooth for your garden.

Other things that you will need or want are gloves that will protect your hands, compost fork, which is a pitch fork that will help you big move piles of leaves or weeds quicker. You may also want to consider getting stakes to tie up plants to help them produce more vegetables or fruit, fencing to go around the garden to keep out wildlife, and string to help tie up some plants to the stakes.

Having a garden can be rewarding work for you, it's always a great sense of accomplishment when you are eating something that you grown in your own garden at dinner, or a snack.
