Create a Gift Basket of Seeds for the Garden
One way to delight a gardener is to collect seeds to help them add new plants, flowers or trees to the garden. It doesn't take any money to collect seeds; however, you will have to devote some time to this project.
Start by asking friends and neighbors to save some seeds from their flower garden for you. Explain that the seeds will be used for a holiday gift. Next, start exploring nature to find some tree seeds. Often you can find seed pods under the trees. You can also shake pine cones to get the seeds to fall out.
Then package the seeds in envelopes and note on each envelope what kind of seed it contains. Put the envelopes in a basket and it creates a lovely holiday gift. This gift is frugal in nature. It doesn't cost much to put it together, but it will provide a wealth of joy once the gardener gets the seeds planted and starts to see new items start to grow in the garden.
Art Books about Flowers
There are many amazing art books about flowers that would make a wonderful gift for a gardener. Many gardeners appreciate being able to view flowers in a photography book. For people where the climate gets cold in the winter a book about flowers would help bring some color and joy to the winter months.
Photo Book of the Garden
Gardeners are often too busy tending to the garden to stop and find time to take photographs of the garden. A fun gift idea is to create a book of photographs of a garden over a certain amount of time such as a summer, a decade, or the entire time the garden has been in existence.
A photo book of the garden can be printed at places like Kinkos. This gift will delight most gardeners. You can add some photos of people from the gardener's life to the book to. Take pictures of them in the garden to use in the book.
