The Gardenscape PC game is a hidden object game combined with a garden building game. Surprisingly, it works out real well and is a pleasure to play.

The Gardenscape PC game begins with the player receiving an inheritance of a mansion and its expansive garden. Unfortunately the garden has seen its better days and it is up to you, and your helpful butler, to rebuild the garden. The garden is a wonderful escape where the butler always seems to be and where you receive letters.

In order to rebuild the garden you have to earn money through jumble sales. The many rooms of the mansion are the scenes for finding items that are needed for the sale. This sale works by customers listing the item that they want then you seeking to find that item. Then payment is left in the form of gold coins that add to your funds.

There are many help items along the way that you must find hidden along with the other scavenger items. There are question mark items, thernometer items, gold coins and more. They are in every scene but sometimes look different.

The garden is built by deciding which style of items that you want to buy. The first object bought is the park bench. There is three styles to choose from. The game does allow you a preview of each style so that you can know which you want instead of guessing. The next choice is fencing and goes on from there until a nice garden has been built. If you decide later that you made a bad choice then you can change it in the garden designer. Before the garden is even close to being finished, the press is calling about it with an offer to advertise.

This game is definitely a game that young children can play without needing much help. The help button doesn't show you the location of the next hidden object, but instead shows what all of the hidden objects look like for a limited amount of time.

The game has a bonus screensaver. The screensaver is the garden that you are currently building and some effects like rain and sound which you can allow or not. The screensaver has a Gardenscape icon but it is placed in a nonobtrusive or loud way. I love using the screensaver and it gives me more incentive to play Gardenscape.

The Gardenscape pc game is available at the Big Fish Games website for only $6.99. The game is designed by Playrix Entertainment.
