The setting at Garibaldi restaurant is attractive for a quick bite during lunch and dinner. The restaurant is clean, dimly lit, with a large bar and comfortable tables and booths. On some nights, they even boast some live Mariachi. Overall, dining at the Garibaldi restaurant in Orlando, Florida, is a pleasant experience. But the food simply won't wow you.
The presentation is fine; in fact, it's better than fine. The portions are large and the dishes look appealing. But, the steaks, for instance, just aren't quite right. Sure, they are cooked to order, but the texture and the taste leaves you longing for something else. The Mexican salads aren't bad, but be sure to order your dressing on the side, as the chefs here tend to go overboard.
Prices for Mexican dinner entrees range from $6.99 for burritos or enchiladas, to $18.59 for the Sonora Steak. You might want to test their food out by having an appetizer before diving on in and ordering an entree. You might very well be disappointed.
The service is fast and friendly, and Garibaldi is a great place to kick back and have a few drinks. The margaritas are decent, though not very strong. And of course, you can never go wrong with a Mexican beer. Give them a call at 407-888-2869 to find out when they will be offering live music and drink specials. Or take a ride by 848 Sand Lake Road in Orlando.
If you do decide on dinner, fill yourself up. Because you might as well skip the dessert. The flan is quite inexpensive - $3.00 and a decent size - but like the rest of the food at Garibaldi, it's just not very good.
It's too bad really - Garibaldi has all the makings of a decent Mexican restaurant, except for the food. Garibaldi also has a location in Kissimmee (1804 West Vine Street), so you might prefer to give that spot a try. Like many restaurants with multiple locations, one could be considerably better than the rest. Hopefully, that's the case with Garibaldi.

Post a CommentI personally love the Garibaldi's on Sandlake Rd. The food is great and very authentic with Mexican food. If you are use to eating fake Mexican food then keep going to what you are use to having because Garibaldi only offers great tasting Authentic Mexican food. I am from Chicago Ill and you can eat the best Mexican food out in the city, but Garibaldi's in Orlando Florida is by far the best in Orlando. So try it and enjoy it and please don't mock it if you are use to eating American mexican taco bell type of food. You really would not know what taste is all about.

insulted by the gesture. It honestly felt as if we were bi-passed because they felt another table would tip better than us. All they people at our table have worked or still work for customer/food service so we tip very well! I am not the type of person to cause waves but this experience was bad enough for me to take my business elsewhere. Customer service does matter!
We went yesterday, for Cinco de Mayo. It was by far the worst service I have ever received at Garibaldi by the Florida Mall. The food was fine, the service sucked! We had a party of 6 and specifically instructed the waiter how we were paying seperately. When our bill came, he split the tab 3 ways so he could charge us 18% gratuity on each bill. One bill was for ONE fountain drink and he charge 18% on that as well! When we brought it to his attention, he advised us that there was nothing he could do, that is the way it had to stay then later said his manager was there but was too busy and would take too long to fix it. So people in our party had to split the bill for our food and vise versa. Not to mention the time it took in-between to place our order for drinks and food and ask for the bill. They also had a Mariachi band who went from table to table playing songs and when they came around to us AND us requesting a song, they completely ignored us and went to another table. I felt very
You should try the Garibaldi at the intersection of 436 and E. Colonial Drive. Service tends to be slow, but we love the food there. And they only serve wine margaritas or beer -- no liquor license.
You are very WRONG about the food it's very good I LOVE going there, the FAJITAS are the best in town. The STEAKS are juicy and tender. You can drink MARGARITAS strong or not depending on how you like it. you should definately go and ENJOY of a WONDERFULL meal
Thank you for this very honest and informative review~Great work!
