I Wish There was a Stronger Garlic Flavor but Otherwise it was OK

It has been a while since I got canned spaghetti sauce but I started to again to save money. I certainly was growing fond of getting spaghetti in a jar but even more, I was growing fond of getting organic spaghetti sauce. Of course, getting jar spaghetti sauce and it being organic was becoming quite pricey, and too pricey for my current grocery budget. As a result, I decided to get the cheapest spaghetti sauce that I could find. This turned out to be a Del Monte spaghetti sauce that comes in a can and only costs ninety two cents. They offered several brands and I have begun to try some of them out. Here is what I thought of their Garlic and Onion Spaghetti Sauce.

I am a big fan of garlic and so I am always eager to try out some garlic spaghetti sauce. Of course I prefer to try out some garlic organic spaghetti sauce but seeing how that is not really a choice at the moment I decided to look on the bright side about this canned spaghetti sauce containing garlic. Wondering how much garlic the Garlic and Onion Spaghetti Sauce by Del Monte had in it I carefully studied the ingredients, which were tomato puree, corn syrup, garlic puree, dehydrated onions, salt, soybean oil, tomato concentrate, spices, carrot fiber, citric acid, dehydrated celery and dehydrated carrots. I didn't think that these ingredients were not too bad. I was certainly happy to see that garlic puree was the third ingredient listed but I wish that the spaghetti sauce didn't contain so much corn syrup. After looking over the ingredients I decided to look over the nutrition facts.

I wasn't expecting spectacular nutrition facts with the Garlic and Onion Spaghetti Sauce by Del Monte but I certainly was hoping that they wouldn't be too disappointing. I saw that the can contained about three cups of spaghetti sauce, which made each half cup serving that it had in it only about fifteen cents. This spaghetti sauce truly was what you would call inexpensive. I wondered how much nutrition fifteen cents could buy you. In a half of a cup of Garlic and Onion Spaghetti Sauce there is eighty calories with ten calories from fat along with four hundred and ninety milligrams of sodium, sixteen grams of carbohydrates, ten grams of sugars and two grams of both fiber and protein. In addition the nutrition facts of Del Monte sauce stated that there was a whole twenty-five percent for vitamin A, ten percent for vitamin C, eight percent for iron and four percent for calcium. I guess I thought that these nutrition facts were alright.

After tasting the spaghetti sauce I could see that there was not as strong as garlic flavor as I like but other wise it was okay. I definitely see myself getting the Garlic and Onion Spaghetti Sauce from Del Monte many times again. I can't really argue the price and if I am going to be getting non-organic spaghetti sauce I might as well choose the cheapest option and save the most money. I would recommend for anyone to try this sauce out. If you love garlic you may be a bit disappointed but if you aren't crazy about garlic then you'll enjoy it. As cheap as it is you can buy a can without stressing over whether or not you will love it.
