Display

The Garmin 401 GPS navigator is fitted with a black and white LCD display. It measures 1.4 inches wide and 0.9 inches high. It shows picture at a resolution of 100 x 64 pixels.

Route

The Garmin 401 gives you the ability to save your favorite locations as waypoints in the device. This is a useful feature so you can easily find your campsite or where you parked your vehicle. You can save up to 500 waypoints.

The Garmin 401 GPS navigator can handle up to 20 routes. It tracks your path using a dotted trail that you see on the display. There is also a TracBack feature so you can retrace your steps easily. The unit's electronic compass and barometric altimeter help you determine location and altitude.

Power

The Garmin 401 is powered by two AAA batteries. When fully charged, they can power the GPS navigator for up to 17 hours. Batteries aren't included in the package, so you will need to provide your own.
