Garry's Mod (PC) Review

This is a review of the Half-Life 2 modification called "Garry's Mod". Here i will explain the pros and cons of playing this unique game.

What is Garry's Mod?
Garry's mod is a one-of-a-kind sandbox building game from an independent developer. It runs on the same engine as the popular Valve game Half-Life 2. Due to the fact it runs on the Source Engine, it requires that you own a game that uses that engine. (for more information, visit store.steampowered.com/ or www.garrysmod.com/ for more information). The main aspect of Garry's mod is it's user created content. It allows advanced users to Code, Script, Model, or Design their own addons for other users to install. For the less advanced users, you can build contraptions in game using "props" from other users or other source games, such as Half-Life 2. You can save and share your contraptions with other users. You can also enjoy a variety of "gamemodes", which are different games you can create or play. Garry's Mod features Multiplayer modes, where you can join or host your own server, of singleplayer, where you can build/play alone.

Graphics- Garry's mod uses the Orange Box engine for all of it's graphics, which is a beautiful rendering system, featuring stunning textures and beautiful model detail. Another factor in the graphics is the player created content. The quality depends on the creater, so it may vary.

Requirements- Garry's mod cost $10 USD without a base game to run it off of, which is required. You also need a decent computer, although the requirements set by Valve are not really enough to enjoy the game to its full potential.
