Fuel-cell cars are the future of automotive vehicles worldwide. Honda has talked about its FCX fuel-cell hybrid since 2004. The car was showcased at a trade show that year, garnering a lot of positive feedback and reaction. It appears that the car will finally enter the production stages nearly three years later. Honda will be calling the car the Honda FCX Clarity. The only problem with the vehicle to date will surround the limited release that is going to take place.
Honda is indeed going to production with the vehicle, but there is a catch. The company will only be leasing around 100 of the vehicles to potential buyers who live near of its three hydrogen fuel stations in southern California. There will need to be more stations built before the car can be released on a march larger scale. The rest of us will have to wait for this to happen and listen to the feedback given by these owners. What happens to the vehicle throughout the time these buyers own their vehicles will play a large role in how they expand in the near future.
Each vehicle should come equipped with a hydrogen fuel station locator. This will come in the form of a complex GPS system. The best part about the vehicle is the amount of combined city and highway mileage that you will be able to get. Current studies have shown that the car can average anywhere from 65 to 68 mpg. This would save many of us a great amount of money. Until the car is released, we will just have to struggle with the rising gas costs.
Pictures have been released to what the car will look like. The Honda FCX Clarity will have a very sporty style. Please view the image to the left to take a look for yourself. It will come in more colors than red when released. Experts are hoping that the car will continue with the Honda tradition of being reliable pieces of machinery. If they do, Honda may continue to grow in popularity and become unstoppable. Attempts to get on the waiting list are hard to do, but keep trying if you want one while you can. The list appears to be growing and you defiantly want to be one of the first people to own one.

Post a CommentExcellent article, update, and preview of the Honda hybrid. I am on the other side of the U.S. from the leasing and fueling stations, but at least the efforts at alternative fueling are positive.
I love Hondas -- at least I've never had a bad experience with one. If I were in the market for a new car, I'd certainly give this a second look.
