Gas Leak in Mountain View?
Neighborhood: Mountain View
San Jose, CA 94040
United States of America
November 3rd residents were concerned about the smell of gas in the air. Ever since the gas explosion in San Bruno, PG&E is working to inspect gas lines along their system. Wednesday, they were in the Palo Alto and Mountain View area. The gas permeates the air due to the "purging" of the lines. PG&E must do this in order to release any air remaining in the system. While the inspection causes worry, the public was not in danger according to Palo Alto city officials who released the report.

After the gas leak on Begen Avenue this past January that caused more than 15 homes to be activated-- followed by the explosion in San Bruno in September--it is no wonder the smell of gas would cause concern. If you smell gas, safety is always the highest priority. Contact PG&E at 1-800-743-5000. 24/7 or call emergency services.
