When we left going through California, we noticed the prices going up. OK, we dealt with that and moved on. By the time we got into Arizona it actually dropped. This is great. it's a bit cheaper. Well, being here about 3 weeks it's almost jump up an entire buck. I'm noticing its going to keep on rising as well. This really makes it hard to find work.
Being that things are a little cheaper here, I'm also noticing so is the pay. A lot of places only pay about 7 to 8 dollars an hour. Most people here have to try to live on this. After all it is minimum wage. The problem is. Most also have to commute to get to work. I have found that most jobs that I can do are clear on the other side of the city. This is a major problem.
With gas prices going up. Now at about 4 dollars a gallon. If your only making 7 dollars an hour and you have to fill up your tank at least twice a week. Where does that leave you the money to live? At 45 to 50 bucks to fill up your tank. Twice a week around 100 bucks. (Giving you have a small car.) Mine takes about 75 or more dollars to fill it up. At 7 dollars an hour for 40 hours a week. What does that make? $280 gross. Not taking out taxes. Take out taxes your looking at 100 and something to try to live on and eat on. Now if your rent is cheap. Which I can't seem to find anywhere. But say you pay $850 a month. If you happen to bring home about 150 a week after gas you would make $600 take home. You didn't even make enough for rent let alone something to eat. Now if you have a family like I do?
What then?
Is it possible that these gas prices are going to kill everything that we know. I do know some that can and most likely be able to live. They make good money. We have so many homeless already in the streets. This can and will bring more out there. With no way out! Could the gas prices actually stop America from being the Land of the free? What about the other countries? Let me know what you think.
