The monitor converts the standard image in a high definition image, and can even convert the 1080p resolution images, at this time the biggest resolution in which the video materials are delivered, in 1600p resolution images. Basically it can support any known image resolution that is currently used, making image processing a lot easier for professionals.
The screen uses the Silicon Optix Relata HQV video processor, and it also offers up a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 400cd/m2 brightness, a six millisecond refresh rate, and 178 degrees viewing angles.
Users of the Quad HD can use various options in order to send images to the monitor, such as HDMI, DVI-D, VGA or S-Video, but also composite interfaces. This makes the monitor not only a tool for personal use, but a very powerful tool for business owners that want the device integrated in their work.
The product is equipped with an USB 2.0 port, having 6 outlets, anti-theft software that can be configured so that the monitor is used on only one computer. In addition to that, Gateway added the device a built-in a speaker system, and designed it to offer a stunning 2560x1600 pixels resolution.
Gateway claims that this device, respectively the XHD3000 is the first device in the world that allows a Quad-HD display.
The initial price of the monitor, is $1,999, but it is a small price to pay in comparison to what the device is capable of. If bought by a professional, this monitor will make life a lot easier when in need of processing high quality images.
Using the monitor for personal use, is not exactly recommended, even if the quality of the images it can display is extremely high, that quality is not needed at home, and it is not worth paying such a high price, for a device you barely need.
Gateway claims that this device will become very popular in the professional world and will soon take over a great deal of the market, unfortunately other competitors as Apple, Dell, Samsung, and HP already offer a similar resolution, which makes it harder for the Gateway product to impose as a popular device, still the impact of the product on the market is unknown.
