Gathering at Wright's Chicken Restaurant in Harrisiville became a tradition with our family over the years until our kids grew up and out. It really is time to return now with our grown children and their families. We have never been fond of fancy dress up, don't spill anything, kind of dining experiences and most of us prefer to dial it back a bit in terms of amenities to be able to include our children and have them love everything that lands in front of them. At first I wasn't sure I would like Wright's Chicken Restaurant at all. There were lots of people going in and I am not a big fan of crowds. But when I realized that the large numbers in attendance at this restaurant were such a clear testimonial to a wonderful family experience, well I guess I just forgot about all about the crowds and decided to give the place a try.

The interior was spacious and alive with meals coming and going. The first surprise was that all the meals were the same. The second was that everything was served family style. No one had prepared me for either of these special circumstances. But while I as taking that all in our first course seemed to be arriving. That's because the service is almost notoriously fast. In that sense the atmosphere is very much like homes where you come to the table to eat.

So my family was more than ready to pass around the bowls of salad and dressing and dig in while we were soaking up the pleasant and down home atmosphere to be found when gathering at Wright's Chicken Restaurant . The salad is not anything out of the ordinary but the dressing brings the dish to life. We found out after a few oos and ahs that the dressing is a house specialty, Wright's Classic Italian Dressing . Yum. Before you have a chance to wonder what could be coming next,the server arrives ( often several servers) with bowls of shell macaroni made special with another local creation, Wright's own sauce prepared fresh.

If you come with our family, it's right about now that you will start to feel like quite the hero for picking out this special spot to gather. Not too many of us can't feel happy with a nice salad and a tasty pasta dish. Then the smiles go full face as dishes of unbelievable french fries arrive. If you think there is no difference between frozen potatoes and fresh, well this will be a nice learning experience for you. When you talk to other veterans of the Wright's Chicken Restaurant experience it is likely that the first thing they will talk about is the french fries. Unique, tasty, memorable, the best I have had anywhere.

Along with the fries and pasta comes the reason you are here, family portions of chicken, enough to take care of the largest chicken lover's appetite. Smiles all around.
