Gatlinburg, Tennessee: a Great Place to Vacation Any Time of Year

Gatlinburg, TN is a great place to enjoy any time of year. Nestled in the mountains of Southeast Tennessee, Gatlinburg is a place filled with great food, attractions, and shopping. I spent a week at Gatlinburg and saw lots of great things for only $1,500.

Just a few of the many attractions are must sees. The Smoky Mountain Winery is open daily for free tasting. The Gatlinburg Sky-lift gives a view like none other. Hauntings: The best interactive ghost show. I highly recommend partaking in the full Ripley's experience. A package deal of the Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, Ripley's Moving Theater, Ripley's Davy Crockett Mini- Golf, and Ripley's Haunted Adventure. There is also the Star Cars Museum where there are over 30 T.V. and movie cars displayed in the scenes that made them famous. The Space Needle Family Fun Center has an Arcade, Lazer Tag, mini-golf, and a 342 Observation Tower that provides a breathtaking view of the Smokies.

Once you enter into Gatlinburg it feels like no other place on Earth. It's full of people but it feels more like home than any other place I have ever vacationed. I've been many places but when I begin to plan another vacation I always think of Gatlinburg first. It's just beautiful all year long. In the summer it's bright and full of life with many outdoor activities like hiking, horseback riding, and rafting. In the fall the mountain sides are vibrant with the colors of the turning leaves. It's just a great place to soak up nature and spend time with Mother Earth. In the winter it's just as equally beautiful. Winter is great time of year to spend snuggled up with someone in a beautiful mountainside chalet. There are many seasonal activities and festivals to participate in all year long.

I stayed at the LaConte View Motor Inn while I was in Gatlinburg. It's a very affordable, well kept place to stay. It's a very comfortable place right across from the Star Cars museum on the main strip of Gatlinburg. I was within walking distance of everything Gatlinburg had to offer. There is something for everyone in Gatlinburg. You can enjoy a round of golf in one of the most breathtaking courses in America at Bent Creek Golf Village. Which was designed by 3 time Masters and British Open Winner Gary Player. Watch a hilarious comedy musical act at the Sweet Fanny Adams Theater.

If you can't find anything to do in Gatlinburg you can always just go right down the road to Pigeon Forge and enjoy the most entertaining meal and show in the South at The Dixie Stampede. While in Gatlinburg you have to at least spend one day in Dolly Wood. While in Dolly Wood you can enjoy some of the tastiest food in the country and then step onto the many exciting rides. Southeast Tennessee has tons to offer. It's just waiting to be enjoyed. Make the trip. You won't regret it.
