Gator Football Player Chris Rainey Gets Arrested

Jacqueline Winslow
We know football is back in season when we start hearing about players being thrown in jail. It has happened for as long as there's been football. There is a saying of kids will be kids or boys will be boys... unless you're on a top SEC football team, that is.

The more known your football team is, the higher the coverage will be. The point being that you aren't and shouldn't get away with getting arresting on a SEC football team and get away with it. Yes, things happen, and football players also live real lives. But, there's a big but here, football players should know better. Better yet, Urban Meyer needs to reign in his players quickly.

The Gators aren't the only team to have trouble with players getting into trouble. We've all listened to reports of player after player getting into trouble while off the field. There should never be a leniency to players once they've been arrested. They need to act quickly and make a statement to other Florida Gator players as well as other SEC football teams that this is not the behavior acceptable to college football players.

Last night, Chris Rainey was arrested for possible stalking. A girl asked him to get off her property, he Rainey had choice words. He texted her, "Time to die [expletive] u and ur???" the report has been stated. Come on, Rainey, you know better than to do stuff like that. You should play football and win championships not get into trouble with the law.

College football coaches, such as Urban Meyer, needs to set the record straight of what will be allowed on his Florida Gator Football team. Then again, this is a great life lesson every college football coach could use as the fall season kicks off... what not to do!

If this is what Urban Meyer wants for the next generation of Tim Teboe's, he's not off to a great start. Remember, the football coach can speak into the players and let them know what is expected and what isn't expected during their college football career.

What we know for certain is that Tim Teboe has been a role model to the football players, to the fans, and to children all over the country. I hope Urban Meyer demonstrates to his new players what his team should be like, act like, and play like.
