Gatorade Lemon-Lime Instant Mix Review

Many people exercise or do activities that will get the heart pumping and the blood flowing through their veins. When you work out or play sports you lose a lot of the electrolytes through your sweat. There are many sports drinks out there that say they will help make you perform better. One of these products is Gatorade. My husband has used Gatorade for many years. He first started drinking it when he was working construction. His dad, brother, and he used to buy the multipacks to drink while they worked in the hot sun. They would also buy water and pop to drink too. My husband still drinks Gatorade to this day. I decided that I would try the Lemon-Lime Gatorade Instant Mix that you prepare yourself. I have always bought other flavors and had never tried this one before.

My husband mixed up some of this into a pitcher so I could try it. He had actually mixed it up to be a little stronger than what you are supposed to because it's the way that he has always liked it. I poured a glass and took a sip. It was good, but I thought it was too strong. It was very sour too. I thought it was just because he had mixed it up strong so I tried to mix a cup of water with it like the package had instructions for. The mix itself dissolved easily. I then tried it and found that it tasted better, but it still had a somewhat sour, almost bitter taste to it. This is not my favorite flavor at all.

There are many good things about Gatorade. First of all it is formulated to rehydrate your body fast. It does work better than water to replenish what sweating takes out of the body. These minerals are added to Gatorade to make it the drink for athletes: sodium, potassium, and chloride. There are also some bad things about it. First of all, in each serving of Gatorade there are between 13 and 14 grams of sugar. This is a lot for the fact that a serving is only one cup. This is high, but not as high as soda. With this being said another bad thing is that sugar in drinks can actually dehydrate you more. This isn't a bad drink, but overall the lemon-lime flavor is very strong! If you do not like the taste of lemon peel, you will not like this. I will continue to drink Gatorade, but not this flavor. There have been many tests on Gatorade and it is proven to help athletes!
