Gay Couples Adopting Children: The Islamic Point of View

Jack Shalt
Should gay couples be allowed to adopt children is a question well asked. Well, there are many views that can be taken on the issue. Both Islamically and ethically views can show the right answer. Taking the issue on an Islamic view however, you would find that gay couples aren't even aloud let alone adopting a child. Islamically you wouldn't be allowed to be homosexual in any way.

There are many reasons for gay couples not being allowed in Islam and that goes to what is ethically right. Gay couples shouldn't even be allowed to exist. It is obviously not a matter of not being able to choose. One reason that gay couples are ethically wrong is because gay couples do not and will not be able to even biologically live together. They will not be able to live together for many reasons. There should be a feminine influence to be able to live in equality. There will be too many conflicts because of a non ecologic surrounding. If there is no feminine influence then there will be no equality. Also through the way of life gays are basically a crime of nature itself. Gays shouldn't exist in nature.

There was a reason for creating man so that they will be able to fertilize and women to have children. Gays wouldn't be able to live in our society and they won't be able to live in even a biologically correct way. There are even more ethics on the reason gays shouldn't even exist themselves, but the issue of going into gay couples adopting a child can be better taken into a religious and Islamic point of view. Taking the issue into the Islamic point of view you would also still see that gay couples shouldn't be allowed. But you also find that being gay is a sin. If being gay is a sin that means that the child that the gay couple is adopting will be influenced to commit sin and won't be able to live normally because their parents are sinners themselves. The child wouldn't even have a feminine influence because there will be none.

No matter how much a man tries to make a feminine influence or try to act like the opposite gender there will still be flaws and issues that the man would run into. The man will still have too much masculinity to be changed. The masculinity would come from either physical appearance to voice and thoughts. Although helping an orphan child would be a right thing to do, if you were going to adopt one as a gay couple you are doing more harm than good. The orphan would see sin as nothing and will more likely to later commit other sins and see it as nothing such as drinking and gambling. There is also an ethical point of view into the issue. The gay child living in a regular world would be made fun of. The child would be a social outcast and would drift into thinking that he is not worth it. He will be psychologically altered and will need a lot of help to get that way of thinking out.

I am wondering if this is the major root of anger in your religion. Let's put aside the women for a second since they don't exist as equals under Islam. But I bet there are many men in your culture who are angry because they can't come out of the closet and exist freely on all levels. They are forced to carry the burdens of their forefathers and the generations who will supersede them. It is truly sad, when a human's basic freedoms and violated by archaic beliefs.

It would appear that you would be far more comfortable living within a society where everyone is the same. Where there is no color, no difference, no longing, and in the end, no reason to even get out of bed. You are welcome to your discrimination, your narrowness, and your dead thinking. Me? I like the rainbow and it's possibility. No religion, or government, or indivual who cannot cope with the beautiful diversity upon this planet will ever take this away from me. Your view would condemn children to remain within the homes in which they are threatened, abused, and even killed. Your view will deprive children of loving homes and family. Your view is the real sin which you only claim to know. Shame.

Everything we've heard and learned ab out Islam over the past few years has shown it to be intolerant not only of other religious beliefs, but also of many of its own, especially women.

Many people believe that one's sexuality if a product of genetics - that is, people are born straight or gay. If that's the case, does God really let people be born who shouldn't be permitted to exist?

My best advice to anyone who thinks homosexuality is a sin is this: don't participate in gay sex, and don't attend Broadway musicals.

    And get a life.
