South American gay-friendly travel destinations - Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires, the largest city in Argentina, is a great place for gay friendly vacations. You'll find neighborhoods that are good for gay travel, such as Palermo Viejo, a trendy neighborhood similar to New York's Soho or Chicago's Lincoln Park. If you're a gay man or woman who loves shopping, gay friendly vacations are perfect in the Palermo Viejo area. You'll find beautiful clothes, crafts and wonderful food, and the prices are not bad. Fashion is important in Palermo Viejo. You won't find dowdy Portenos (people in Buenos Aires.) But, not only are they good looking, they're friendly too, and that's a nice combination. Travel in Buenos Aires is easy; take the subway or the taxi. You'll find luscious scenery and affordable hotels or apartments to rent. People in Buenos Aires are laid back. Dinner, for example, does not begin until late. After dinner, you'll go dancing in one of the gay bars.
South American gay-friend travel destinations - Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil and will host the 2016 Olympic Summer Games. Rio is a perfect location for gay travel. However, if you're the small town guy or gal, skip Rio. This is for travelers that desire big city lights and lots of big city clubbing. You'll find that the nightlife goes all hours and the beaches are full of sexy gay people. (Visit the gay section of Ipanema Beach.) This is a city that welcomes diversity and that is attuned to gay life. There are many gay organizations and other resources in Rio de Janeiro. Should you walk around together hand in hand? The answer is - Rio de Janeiro is just like any other big city, such as New York or Chicago, so use discretion. It seems no matter where you go there are always more resources for gay men than women, but lesbians can enjoy a lesbian bar or special lesbian nights at selected clubs. Gay travel in Rio includes Carnival during the summer. Carnival is full of gay life and is the most important event in Rio. Carnival is a four day event.

Post a CommentGreat info on this, Jolie!
Yes, Peter, I know you're not black. LOL (But I am!!)
Thanks for reading, guys and gals!
Totally agree with Catherine, John and Peter...now how can I afford a trip to Buenos Aires? I'd LOVE to go!
I totally agree with Peter. Part of the fun of travel is meeting people different from yourself. :)
Great information Jolie! I wish I could afford a trip to Rio or Buenos Aires!
I am straight but not narrow. I wouldn't want to go to a place that's gay-unfriendly, any more than I would want to go to a place that was unfriendly to Blacks (which I am not) or Jews (which I am) or any other group.
