# 6 Normal Heights

Normal Heights is located in central San Diego, and is a 7 min drive to downtown. Normal Heights has many LGBT friendly and owned businesses. The rent prices are very decent and there are many cute private own shops to go to. You may not see a lot of rainbow flags in this neighborhood but trust me it is known to be more LGBT friendly than other neighborhoods.

# 5 Mission Hills

Mission Hills is a very nice and classy neighborhood to live in. The rent prices in this neighborhood are a little more expensive then Normal Heights. This neighborhood is a very quit and also has many great shops. It is just north of the LGBT mecca, and is very LGBT friendly.

# 4 Balboa Park

Balboa Park is San Diego's most historical and biggest parks. If you find a place in this neighborhood then you have lucked out. Balboa park is close to all the museums, parks, and the San Diego Zoo. Balboa Park is also about a 10 minute walk away from many LGBT bars, clubs, and shops. Rent in this area is more expensive but very nice.

# 3 University Heights

University Heights is a mini-gay Mecca within itself. This neighborhood is home to many LGBT friendly places. Some of these places include: Bourbon Street, Cheers, The Leigh Lounge, and other places. It is common to see many people of the LGBT community in University Heights especially on weekends. The rent in this area varies but is pretty decent.

# 2 North Park

North Park can also be considered a mini-gay mecca. This neighborhood also is home to many LGBT friendly and own businesses. Some of these businesses include: Baucus house, Claire De Lune coffee House, and many more. The rent prices in this neighborhood are very decent and well priced.

# 1 Hillcrest

Hillcrest is San Diego's official LGBT neighborhood. It is known to the LGBT community as a safe place and very open. There are many businesses and clubs that cater to the LGBT community. The LGBT pride parade occurs every year in Hillcrest. If you want to live in a LGBT community then this neighborhood is for you.
