The Family OUTing's Group Goes Out for Some Summer Fun
Bakersfield, CA 93301
United States of America
On July 24th 2010, The Family OUTing's group will be going swimming at McMurtrey Aquatic Center. Summer is well known for having hot, hot weather so let's cool down and have some fun.
McMurtrey Opens at 1 PM and we will be meeting at 12:55 at the entrance. If you've never been to McMurtrey Aquatic Center, you're in for a real treat. Wikipedia states that "The 8,551-square-foot recreation pool, features: zero depth entry, child play features, double water slides, plunge pool, diving boards, water volley ball area, and specially designed interactive wet play equipment. It's also nice to note, the recreation area includes Picnic Areas for public use and party rentals, for a small fee. A snack bar is conveniently located near the picnic area, and well-priced. Lockers, showers, and electrical outlets are also available in the two over-sized locker rooms."
Admission is $3 dollars per person or $10 dollars for a group of 4 to 6 people.
We can try to go in via groups of 6 to try to save on costs (we're going as pay your own way aka dutch treat). If you plan on getting a locker, you need to bring your own lock.
Swim suits are required (no cut offs). Kids 3 and under require one on one supervision by an adult at all times and kids under 6 must be with an adult in the pool. Don't forget your towels and sunscreen!
One or more of us will be wearing a Family OUTing's shirt when we meet at the front so you can identify us. Plus if you've been at a previous OUTing, you already will recognize our friendly faces.
McMurtrey Aquatic Center is located at 1325 Q St # 100 Bakersfield, CA 93301 next to Maya Cinemas.
If you want to go but are feeling a little nervous, please still attend our OUTing. Various amounts of people attend, sometimes only a couple sometimes a few more then that. The point is to meet other people that you can relate to. You've got to break the ice sometime. So don't be shy, give us a try. We don't bite.
