Gay Nightlife in Orange County

Stephanie Armstrong
Orange County evokes images of sandy beaches, wealth and the popular TV show. This California county is known for its amusement parks and conservatism. Gay Days at Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm are always exciting, but finding gay nightlife in Orange County isn't always so easy. These comfortable and lively spots around town have a good mixture of gay locals and out-of-towners.

Metro Q Bar and Grill
19092 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, CA 92648, 714-968-6677

The Metro Q is one the two most popular gay bars in Huntington Beach. The bar opened its doors in 2009 and the owner is a local Huntington Beach resident. The bar is a fun place to eat, drink and play while in town. They have satellite TV, pool tables, a jukebox and even free Wi-Fi.

You can totally update your Facebook page on your laptop while waiting to meet friends or scoping out potential new ones. Visit Metro Q's website for a list of upcoming events. You'll find events like Taco Tuesdays with $3 margaritas and champagne brunch on Sundays. Metro Q is also a restaurant so those under 21 can visit as well.

Tin Lizzie Saloon
752 Saint Clair St, Costa Mesa, CA 92626, 714-966-2029

Tin Lizzie Saloon is a plush and premier gay bar in Orange County. Located in Costa Mesa, this bar has been open since the 1950s. Tin Lizzie Saloon has Victorian décor, oversized booth seating and chandeliers. The red velvet drapes, handsome bar and hardwood floor just sets the tone for a fun evening out.

The saloon has an assortment of wine, spirits and domestic and imported beer. Drink prices range from $2.75 to $7 and are considered a bargain for a little indulgence in Costa Mesa 's self-proclaimed gay oasis. The Tin Lizzie Saloon is a comfortable bar with a touch of class.

Ibiza Bar and Nightclub
18528 Beach Blvd , Huntington Beach, CA 92648, 714-963-7744

Ibiza Bar and Nightclub is open daily and has really affordable drink specials. The menu will occasionally have $2 shots and $3 beers. Those are prices that you won't find at the Magic Kingdom. Weekends usually don't have a cover charge. Ibiza Bar also hosts drag shows and you can follow the bar on Twitter.

The bar is right around the corner from the Five Points Plaza Shopping Center so it's a great place to hangout at after a day of shopping. To find additional gay bars throughout California, visit GayBarMaps.com for an interactive map.
