I don't care that he is gay. We knew that from his appearance on American Idol. However, I am getting tired of getting the "gay" thing shoved in my face all the time. It seems that since they came out of the closet, they are determined to try and make heterosexuals feel like, THEY are the ones who are different. Yea, different. You can slice this cake anyway you choose and it still comes up that "they" are different. Lie all you want to yourself, but it is the truth. They are in parades, kissing and fondling each other, but straight people are told to get a room. Double standards seem to be the norm. Americans would never tolerate the open, sexual innuendos from straight people, as it has the gay community. We lambasted Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake for the wardrobe malfunction, to the point of banishment. What?
I would like to know, who made the rule that we, HAVE to ACCEPT this? The guilt trip that has been laid on us is unreal when you really think about it. I, truly get tired of being forced to appear, to accept it. Look at Barney Frank! Is there anything about him, and thinking about his way of life, appealing? Picture that! OMG!
I totally believe that the "gay" lifestyle goes so much farther than we ever knew. We hear of officials, prominent citizens and other men, who have been caught with their proverbial pants down in gay relationships. Why is it always the "MEN", who come out and are caught? Why is it so overwhelmingly men, who are gay? Of course, I know there are many women too, just for disclosure sake. Messed up as well. Sometimes, you wonder if there are more people, who are gay, rather than straight. That have lived straight and have not admitted to it. If they all came out, would they be a majority rather than a minority?
We are losing our moral footing in this country. Whether being gay is wrong or not, flaunting it is. Now, the gay people think, THEY are right and heterosexuals are wrong. We are being treated like something is wrong with us. The Parenting group that complained about the Adam Lambert show, back peddled on their opinion, after GMA canceled Adam's appearance . They said, they didn't mean to cause that, and maybe they weren't really saying to punish him, that way. Back peddling so fast, it was dizzying. Whatever happened to standing up for what you believed in? Because of the backlash from society? Because we are trying to be tolerant and not be judgmental?
In a short 20 years, heterosexuals have become the strange ones in this country. Gays are the ones that are normal. Don't dare speak up and say you don't agree with that lifestyle or you will be considered a fanatic and a religious nut. You will be accused of not being "politically correct". You will be said to be biased and uncaring. That attitude has unleashed an onslaught of newly "gay" people, who feel they need to publicize their preferences. It seems they are always trying to make some point for people just like me.
Well, sorry folks, I have to say this...I am tired of having it shoved down my throat. I don't care if you are gay. TMI....
I don't approve....I don't care....Keep it to yourself. I have to say the same about any sexual stuff. Gay or straight. That is a personal thing. People really don't care to see you expressing your sexual behavior and preferences in public. When Madonna and Brittany did their show, I didn't want to see that on TV. That, though accepted by a large majority of men, is still gay behavior being flaunted in our faces. Adam Lambert is a "wanna be" "rock star". He got just a little recognition and he thought he could be Madonna or Brittany. And he has gotten away with it and been given kudos for doing it. What?
I would never mistreat a person, who chooses to be gay. However, I am not required to approve and to appear to accept it. I am just as much an American as anyone else, and as such enact my right to speak freely. If I do not approve or like something, I do not have to say I like it, just to live in America or to be politically correct.
The presentation by Adam Lambert last night was disrespectful and crude. His blatant disregard for anyone but himself and the point he thought he should make, is appalling. He said he got carried away. Obviously he got carried away, but does he care? He has since his time on American Idol, chosen to advertise the fact that he is gay. I am wondering if he was advertising for more than his singing reputation. It seems he may want to acquire more activity in his life.
It is sick, the way sex has taken over our world. You can't turn on the TV or go on line, without seeing what drives us. Religious or not, you have to see how far we have come in the sexual revolution. In that quest to be totally morally corrupt, we have made it the norm for this behavior to be accepted. It took minutes after Lambert was cut from his original morning appearance, to be booked somewhere else for early morning show and tell for the world to gawk at. When did we allow ourselves to get here?
We talk about the trillions of dollars of debt being left to our children, yet we our leaving a debt of a moral magnitude, that is going to cause much more damage. Families are broken because of sex, gay and straight. Kids are secretly abused to satisfy the sickness of sex. We just continue to let it happen in the name of political correctness. Well, I choose not to accept Adam Lambert's show of cocky behavior..no pun intended. You decide. I don't want this shoved down my throat. This behavior was over the top and totally, not in good taste or good sense.
Why do we have to say and do what others think we should, just to be in America? Are you tired of this too? Say so. If you are a gay person, I don't apologize for this. You are welcome to live your life. I won't judge you. However, I have rights too. Get a room. Keep it to yourself. Nobody really cares.

Post a CommentWhile I firmly believe that we should be kind to those who are "different," I also firmly believe that every TV has an on and off switch. Thanks for this honest editorial.
Unfortunately, "disagreement" has now been redefined as "hate". It was a very clever campaign. Of course, it is still appropriate to say bad stuff about Christians...that's not hate.
Heck, Rose, I'm gay and I totally agree with ya. Don't get why some outed gays seem to have this weird need to 'let it all hang out' regardless of whether letting it all hang out is appropriate in the social situation or not. I think most gays behave quite normally. Those ones making a living in Hollywood and New York, though, are way over the top (sometimes it's like they're milking the gayness for attention or something). :oP
Good discussion.

Have I published derogatory terms in my article? NO. Guideline 7 states that I cannot publish terms that are considered derogatory in the article. I used no derogatory terms in the article, unless gay is considered derogatory. Yet another case of someone who either sympathizes with gay folks or is gay. Please read the article before making comments based on your feelings.
first of all Sela, calling someone a queer is not considered a HATE crime. Sorry as much as people like you, would like to make it a crime. I do stand by 100% of what I said. Where did you read that I didn't stand by what I said? Did you read the entire article. I definitely stood by what I said. The queer comment was totally directed at someone's comment. Oh, United States should be capitalized in any usage, because it is a country.....Research would be necessary to prove to you that "queer" has not been deemed a "hate" word in any country....Do your homework before you talk junk. Standing by what you say means not backing down from it. I definitely did not back down, if you can read.....
I agree with the author. Our culture has taken sexuality way to far, especially gay sexuality. Straight people don't plaster their cars with stickers alluding to their sexuality, nor do they participate in parades or other demonstrations. I'm willing to bet that most Americans don't care if someone is gay or not, we just don't want to have it thrown in our faces all of the time. Most of us don't like seeing straight people make out in public, either. In other words, a sense of what is appropriate would be nice.
By the way, I saw his performance on the AMA and didn't even notice who the other people were. I just thought that he didn't look good and his song sucked. It just sucked. Plain and simple. I didn't know he was gay until after the fact.
I agree, Rose. We have lost our freedom of speech, and evidently our freedom to think.
Obviously CHB didn't read the article...You can be queer all you want...But don't tell me about it. No judging...be queer...I don't care and don't want to see it...
