Use plants to decorate your gazebo. If you'd like your gazebo to serve as a garden setting, bring some plant life onto the structure. There are a variety of plants available to fit every budget. You can hang shade and partial shade loving plants in the gazebo to bring in some of that pretty plant life. Hang a couple at the archway to provide an inviting atmosphere. You can also place potted plants around the gazebo for bursts of color. This will help provide a more colorful and peaceful getaway atmosphere. Choose plants specific to the season.
Also consider growing vines on your gazebo. As the vines cover part of the gazebo it will provide you with more privacy and shield you from the sun. If you get tired of the vines, you can always cut them back. Choose the annual variety so you can plant them each year if you'd like.
Use furniture to decorate your gazebo. There are many coordinated outdoor furniture sets to suit your taste. Choose the right sized furniture and number of pieces according to the size of your gazebo. If you already have garden furniture, considering replacing the cushions for an inexpensive change. Leave space for those that might want to walk around a bit in the gazebo.
Use lighting to decorate your gazebo. At night paper or oil lanterns will add a lovely glow and atmosphere to your gazebo. The lanterns will also add some much needed light if you're out there late at night. You can also use solar lighting around the gazebo or electric lighting. The solar lighting is an inexpensive choice as the light is powered by the sun. String Christmas lights on the posts and pillars for a fanciful use of color.
Use sound to decorate your gazebo. Place wind chimes in your gazebo to add a bit of whimsy and sound to the atmosphere. A peaceful medley of chimes will help you relax. There are a variety of choices to fit all budgets.
Use bird houses, feeders and/or bird baths. Place one or all of these near your gazebo to attract birds that you can watch. Choose a charming looking house, feeder and/or bath and watch the birds flock to it. Consider making a bird feeder yourself to save on costs.
Use water fixtures to decorate your gazebo. You can also place a pond near your gazebo. This is an inexpensive option because you can choose to have a still pond with lily pads and fish. For special occasions consider adding a water fountain feature that will recycle the water and provide a soothing sound.
