Gazz-It

SuperModeling Fun!

I first came across Gazz-It at the Dollar Store, of all places! Playdough gets boring to them after a while, and when I gave them Moon Sand they made a huge mess with it! I saw Gazz-It and figured, it would probably amuse them for a few minutes, at least.

Well, its been amusing them for an hour now! The stuff has the look and texture of tiny foam beads, but with some sort of sticky substances that keep them all locked together in one glob. Like Playdough, it can be pulled apart, flattened, rolled, squished, shaped, and otherwise maneuvered. The bumpy texture is very different from Playdough, though, and is fascinating to the kids! I played with it for a long time, myself, as well!

I only bought one color, white, but it comes in lots of different colors. I imagine that it would be very cool to mix together, if you had more than one color at your disposal! It would not mix together into one brownish blob, like Playdough and Moon Sand do. Instead, all of the different beads would retain their original colors, making one giant blob of a rainbow!

Once the kids did grow tired of it, it was really easy to clean up, too. There weren't tiny pieces everywhere, like with Playdough. I didn't have to sweep fifty pounds of it off the floor, like I did with the Moon Sand! I could just pick the Gazz-It up and mush it all back into the little plastic bucket, with no mess at all left on the table or floor!

Although it feels sticky, it doesn't leave a residue on your hands, either. I have no idea how this works, because the stuff actually sticks to your hands, but when you peel it off, there's nothing sticky left there! The eighteen-month old in my little crew got the stuff all over her clothes and in her hair, of course, so I can also attest that its easy to remove from clothes and hair. You just pull it right off!

The kids love Gazz-It. I'll be buying more for them soon!

is this stuff made out of styrofoam or some other type of foam?

I love this stuff, found it at dollar tree. It's kind of like Floam, but I like it much better. My sister had floam, but the stuff holding the beads together was more of a goo and eventually all the bead would just fall out after playing with it. It dries out, too.
