Gear Review: the Signatures RealTree Camouflage Hat from Walmart

This Safari-style Hat Looks like Victory!

We live in challenging times. The country has faced terrorism, epic natural disaster, economic hard times, and more. Popular television series like "The Walking Dead" and "Falling Skies" are mentally preparing every American to do battle with Zombies and alien invaders. Glenn Beck has everyone worried about the economy. It's a lot to deal with and many people feel that they need to be prepared for disaster. One thing is clear, if "The End of the World as We Know It" ever comes, you're going to need a nice, rugged, hat. The Signatures RealTree Camouflage Hat at Walmart might be a good choice.

I found this cool hat in the sporting good department of Walmart with the hunting supplies. For only $15, you get a classic wide-brim safari hat in a RealTree camouflage pattern with a nylon mesh top to let air circulate. If you live in a hot, sunny, humid, area, this sort of hat is great to wear. The wide brim keeps the sun out of your eyes, off of your ears, and reduces the sun on your neck and shoulders. The hat has a leather chin strap to help wearers retain their hat on windy days or while riding a horse or boating. The profile of this hat is similar to a classic fedora with a turned down brim. The hat confers a commanding presence that will inspire confidence. The hat is made 60% cotton and 40% polyester. This is definitely the hat to wear while leading your neighborhood's resistance against alien invaders.

In the woods, the RealTree camouflage pattern on this Chinese-made Signatures hat will effectively break up your profile. Yet, your profile will still look distinguished. You'll be a gentleman of the swamp: an adventurer with class. Of course, not everything is perfect with this hat. Compared to a baseball-style cap, a wide brim hat like this is difficult to wear in the car. You'll also bump the brim of this hat against branches from time to time when moving through wooded areas. I'm not completely sold on the utility of the chin strap. But, I don't have a horse. This camouflage hat fits many sizes. The hat I purchased was a large/extra large size and it fit me a little loosely. However, the hat liner ensures that the hat fits.

Overall, the Signatures RealTree Camouflage Hat is a great deal for $15. It does a good job of keeping the sun out of your eyes, allows air to circulate, and has an adventurous look. I think this hat is a winner. At least, it looks like victory!
